Pat Carroll Signed Ursula The Little Mermaid Display

"So much for true love!!"

This delightful matted display from the 1989 Disney classic The Little Mermaid consists of great picture of the evil sea witch Ursula with together with the signature of Pat Carroll who provided her voice. It has been matted using only acid free materials. It would make the perfect display piece for any nursery or child's bedroom and is an absolute must for any Disney fan! Disney experts will know that this was the last Disney animated feature to use hand-painted cels and analog camera and film work. 1,000 different colors were used on 1,100 backgrounds. Over one million drawings were done in total.

The film is loosely based upon the story by Hans Christian Andersen. Ariel, youngest daughter of King Triton, is dissatisfied with life in the sea. She longs to be with the humans above the surface, and is often caught in arguments with her father over those "barbaric fish-eaters". She goes to meet Ursula, the Sea Witch, to strike a deal, but Ursula has bigger plans for this mermaid and her father...It's memorable main song Under The Sea, sung by the wonderful Sebastian, won the 1990 Oscar for best song. This film was the most effects-animation heavy Disney animated feature since Fantasia in 1940. The two minute storm sequence alone took 10 special effects animators over a year to finish. If you have a copy of the film, keep an eye out for a hidden extra - in the opening scene when King Triton arrives at the arena, you can briefly see Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck in the crowd of sea-people as mermen when he passes over them.

The Little Mermaid marked Disney's comeback from a 10 years in the movie wilderness and marked the dawning of a new golden age in Disney animation- The Lion King, Aladdin and Beauty And The Beast would follow shortly afterwards. The final sequence in this film (Ariel and Eric's wedding) was the first in Disney animation history to use the CAPS (Computer Animation and Production System) computer system developed by Disney and their brand new computer technology partners at Pixar. This sequence and all future Disney animated films (from Rescuers Down Under, The (1990) on) still used traditionally painted backgrounds and traditionally drawn character animation, but after the artwork was completed, it was all scanned into the CAPS system, where the animation drawings were colored, and effects and blends added using CAPS's digital ink-and-paint software. All the camera work (including a digital version of Disney's famous "multiplane camera") and compositing was then done in the CAPS system and printed out to film. This is a great opportunity to get a true piece of signed Disney movie history and bring the magic into your home forever. Don't miss out!

Somewhere under the sea and beyond your imagination is an adventure in fantasy.
