Desmond Llewelyn & Sean Connery James Bond & Q Display

"Look, 007, I've had a long and tiring journey, probably to no purpose, and i'm in no mood for your juvenile quips."

This sensational display consists of a classy 8x10 from You Only Live Twice of James Bond and Q with the ultimate flying machine, Little Nellie, with the signatures of Sean Connery and Desmond Llewelyn.  It goes without saying that this is an incredibly sought after combination which would make the perfect centrepiece of any collection.

During You Only Live Twice, Bond asks Tiger Tanaka to contact M and arrange for Little Nellie to be delivered along with her father. Little Nellie arrives in 4 large suitcases accompanied by her father, Q. After being assembled Bond uses Little Nellie to scout remote mountains and volcanoes to try to find the missing US and Russian spacecrafts. During his reconnaissance mission, five SPECTRE helicopters armed with machine guns confront him. Using all Little Nellie gadgets, Bond manages to defeat SPECTRE and return to base.Loaded with gadgetry, Little Nellie sported two rear flame guns, aerial mines, front-mounted machine guns, two rocket launchers, smoke ejectors and two heat seeking air-to-air missiles.

Desmond Llewelyn was born in South Wales in 1914, the son of a coal mining engineer. After failing the police exam, Llewelyn thought about becoming a minister, realizing after a week-long retreat of quiet and meditation that the ministry "was definitely not for me." Llewelyn persevered in his acting quest, and was accepted to the Royal Academy for the Dramatic Arts in the mid 1930s. He was a prisoner of war in the Second World War. He was cast as Q in 1963 and despite being the longest recurring actor in the 007 franchise, appearing in 17 films, his on screen time is only a little more than 30 minutes in total.

"The name's Bond. James Bond." And try as he might, Sean Connery's never going to totally escape his identification as that debonair secret agent with the license to kill. To his credit, though, he's been able to supplant his Agent 007 image with a wide range of impressive performances since abandoning the Bond role. After a three-year stint in the British navy, Connery toiled in a series of odd jobs-milkman, bricklayer, lifeguard-before his weight-lifting hobby enabled him to represent Scotland in the 1950 Mr. Universe contest.

He was lost in the huge all-star cast of the WW2 epic The Longest Day (1962), but stardom was just around the corner. His polished demeanor and ultra-masculine appeal was noticed by producer Harry Saltzman, who cast him as James Bond in the first big-screen 007 adventure, Dr. No (1962). (The character had appeared on U.S. TV in 1954, played by Barry Nelson in an adaptation of Casino Royale.) The first Bond film was so popular that it spawned its own genre, and Connery reprised the role in From Russia, With Love (1963), Goldfinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967), and Diamonds Are Forever (1971), he reprised the role in Never Say Never Again in 1983.
