Veronica Cartwright & John Hurt Alien 8x10

In space no one Can Hear You Scream....

This tremendous 8x10 depicts one of the most famous sci fi scenes of all time - the gory birth scene from the original 1979 Alien film. The alien is literally in the process of bursting from Kane's chest with Lambert and others watching on. The item has been signed by both John Hurt who played the unfortunate Kane and Veronica Cartwright who played Lambert. Veronica has added her character name and the film title to the picture - making this item even more special!!

When commercial towing vehicle Nostromo, heading back to Earth, intercepts an SoS signal from a nearby planet, the crew are under obligation to investigate. After a bad landing on the planet, some crew members leave the ship to explore the area. At the same time as they discover a hive colony of some unknown creature, the ship's computer deciphers the message to be a warning, not a call for help. When one of the eggs is disturbed, the crew do not realize the danger they are in.

The infamous birth scene from the 1979 horror movie ‘Alien’ was actually derived from something right down here on planet Earth! Parasitic wasp embryos are injected into caterpillars by their mothers, and use a virus in their DNA to paralyze their host. For 14 days they peacefully develop. Then, they bite their way out of the caterpillar, and without a second glance begin spinning cocoons. Instead of getting out of there as fast as they can, the brain-addled caterpillars build blankets over their attackers to defend them against predators until they emerge as fully-formed wasps ready to create parasitic babies of their own.

The Alien film franchise is a science fiction horror film series, focusing on Lieutenant Ellen Ripley (played by Sigourney Weaver) and her battles with an extraterrestrial lifeform, commonly referred to as the "Alien". Produced by 20th Century Fox, the series started with the 1979 film Alien, which led to three movie sequels, as well as numerous books, comics and video game spin-offs. Related to the franchise is the two part Alien vs. Predator series which combines the Aliens with the Predators from the Predator film series. Prometheus, an indirect prequel to Alien, is also related. All told the franchise has been entertaining the world - and on occasion terrifying them too - for more than 35 years!

Final report of the commercial starship Nostromo, third officer reporting. The other members of the crew, Kane, Lambert, Parker, Brett, Ash and Captain Dallas, are dead. Cargo and ship destroyed. I should reach the frontier in about six weeks. With a little luck, the network will pick me up. This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off.
