Andy Serkis Signed King Kong 8x10

This powerful close up of the giant ape Kong from the blockbuster 2005 remake of King Kong has been signed by the brilliant Andy Serkis. Andy first shot to real fame as Gollum in the Lord of the Rings. In addition to 'playing' Kong in the movie, Andy also played Lumpy the Chef, who met with a most unfortunate death on Skull Island!  Andy studied a number of wild gorillas in Zaire before taking on the role - which was carried out using the same techonolgy as Gollum. There is a minor lifting of the autograph on the S of Serkis - which is reflected in the brilliant price for this item.

Set in the 1930s, this is the story of a young and beautiful actress Ann Darrow from the world of vaudeville who finds herself lost in depression-era New York and her luck changes when she meets an over-ambitious filmmaker Carl Denham who brings her on an exploratory expedition to a remote island where she finds compassion and the true meaning of humanity with an ape Kong. The beauty and the beast finally meet their fate back in the city of New York where the filmmaker takes and displays the ape in quest of his fame by commercial exploitation which ultimately leads to catastrophe for everyone including a playwright Jack Driscoll who falls in love with Ann and plays an unlikely hero by trying to save her from Kong and her destiny.

Peter Jackson’s take on the 1933 classic has been met with great acclaim. Jackson, who received $20 million, the highest ever salary paid to a director before production, has shown again what a master film maker he is. Whilst CGI enables Kong to do so much more than the original stop motion beast ever could, this is not at the expense of the soul of the film. Peel away the dramatic dinosaur chases, fantastic special effects and gruesome deaths and at it's heart you'll find a sensitive, love story. Jackson pays suitable homage to the original film - for example, the billboards that appear in Times Square (with ads for Coca-Cola, Pepsodent, and Chevrolet), are identical to those in the original 1933 version and when Kong is unveiled in the theater in New York, the costumes and music for the "fake" natives are the same used for the "real" natives in the 1933 original. Behold the beast and bring the magic majesty of Kong into your home forever!

The eighth wonder of the world.....
